News from Randers Bike Week

The registration for Randers Bike Week 2014 is opened. There are currently approx. 100 entries from Denmark , Norway, Germany and Holland.

This year we have arranged neutral service vehicle so that all riders from the children in the U11 race up to Master riders in H60 will get help in case of a puncture or other defect . There will in fact in all fields be service vehicles in the same way as seen in the Tour De France.

Randers Bike Week hope that this action once again will raise our otherwise high level.

There have since last year’s race been an extremely high activity on our Facebook page. The reason is the thousands of pictures stored on the site. People tags those they know. Due this way Randers Bike Week reach a huge audience.

As a result of the cooperation between the Nordic countries, several of the commissioners from Norway and Sweden, like judges in a football game, will help at this year Randers Bike Week. This will give the race a step in the right direction for the race to get more international attention.

Remember that this year Randers Bike Week will take place from July 1 to July 5 .

U17 national team warms up with Randers Bike Week take place

In these days the stage race Randers Bike Week take place, and besides participation from Concordia Forsikring Riwal, Team Designa Køkken og Team Tre-For, the Danish U17 national team also to be found.

By Joachim Næshave

U19 and U17 coach Henrik Zimber, I catch the car park. U17-class time trial has just been run, and in his hand he has a good portion of pasta that his riders now have consumed so that they can be ready to race tomorrow, when the 77.5 km long stage take place.

“We have chosen to use this race as a prelude to the upcoming Youth Olympics taking place in Utrecht in the Netherlands in 14 days. The race is made for just to test his riders before we leave. “- Corresponds Henrik Zimber to the question of why they have just chosen Randers Bike Week take place as prelude.

Around the table in the hotel restaurant I find Mathias Norsgaard. Mathias is one of the three Danish riders who have been selected to race in the Olympics, and the excitment is not difficult to detect, since the question about expectations for this race are asked.
“I am very excited to get to Utrecht and discover the elite atmosphere that will be there – in addition it is a great experience for all of us that people from all over Europe come and look how our national team achieve. It will be really exciting. “

Hard to choose
In recent months, it has been national coach’s task to select the riders that he wants to Holland, and it has not been a very easy decision, he says – “I’ve been around the country and kept up with the various riders’ results. Many have been running really great races where I’ve had my doubts about who was going to the Netherlands. It have ended up with that I have followed my intuition and the three riders that I feel can go all the way. “

The three riders who have to go to Holland’s Mathias Norsgaard, Anthon Charmig and Frederik Poulsen.

On July 16th the national team to start with the time trial and again on July 18th when it comes to the road race . The whole team is excited and will guarantee that they will do their best to achieve the goal that is to get medals at the time trial.

Follow the boys and their performance on the DCU’s website – and if this is not enough, you should stop by Randers tomorrow, where they race to keep the yellow jersey.
